From August 15 to December 15, 2025, Taiwan’s Agriculture and Food Agency (AFA), Ministry of Agriculture, is joining forces with three major retail partners—Funcom Supermarket, JSGoodLife, and MAJI TREATS—to introduce 40 varieties of locally sourced, primary processed agricultural products from across Taiwan. This campaign not only provides consumers with more diverse shopping choices but also opens new sales channels for small-scale farmers, ensuring that safe and delicious local goods can reach a wider audience.
Local Processing, Diverse Choices—Discover the Taste of Taiwan
Nearly 40 retail outlets across Taiwan will showcase 40 primary processed products made from fresh agricultural produce, processed right where they are produced. Highlights include Nantou tea farmers’ wild-grown pineapple-aroma black tea, Yunlin smallholders’ freeze-dried strawberries, Taikeng No. 9 rice grown and milled by Miaoli organic farmers, convenient sachets of longan honey from Hsinchu beekeepers, and all-natural dried fruit crafted by Tainan orchardists with three generations of experience. These products not only meet food safety standards but also embody the rich diversity and quality of Taiwan’s agricultural produce.
Strengthening Integrated Management and Promoting Sustainable Innovation
To strengthen unified management and guidance from production through primary processing, the AFA has implemented the Regulations Governing Primary Agricultural Products Processing Yards since 2020. By June 2025, the agency had assisted 62 farmers nationwide in obtaining official registration certificates. To further enhance market performance, the AFA has not only facilitated partnerships with physical retailers but also encouraged fresh marketing approaches such as social media group buying and reels promotion. Under the theme “Adding Value Locally, Ensuring Sustainability,” the AFA is committed to raising consumer awareness while helping farmers expand market opportunities. Moving forward, the agency will continue to guide more farmers in establishing certified processing facilities and, through diversified sales channels and training, promote the sustainable development of Taiwan’s primary processing sector while fostering creative new business opportunities across the agricultural industry.
