Modern agricultural technology is the primary source of competitive advantages in agricultural industry. To accommodate the industrial development, the AFA formulates the R&D subjects and entrusted universities and research institutions to conduct various research projects. The major fields of study include improvements of crop varieties, cultural practices, and postharvest treatments, followed by inquiries on non-food transgenic crop, plant tissue cultures, rational fertilization, soil managements, organic cultures, and agricultural production safety. Agricultural mechanization and automation, bio fertilizers, pollution controls, agricultural waste recycling, agricultural marketing, agricultural information computerization, healthful crops, and agricultural processing are also among strongly emphasized areas. Through applying these research findings and conducting technology transfers, the agricultural industry would progress toward the goal of fineness and excellence.
