Regulations Governing Primary Agricultural Products Processing Yards, implemented in 2020, have already led to the registration of 54 such sites for crops. The AFA has been actively supporting these processors by providing tailored guidance and connecting them with diverse distribution channels based on their product categories and production capacities.
This year, the AFA has partnered with two major retailers, Funcom Supermarket and Maji Treats, to introduce primary processed products to their customers in-store and through Funcom's group buying Line communities. Additionally, the restaurant "have a sEAT" at eslite spectrum Nanxi features chilled and frozen primary processed foods in their dishes, such as Oldham bamboo shoot-based Taiwanese cuisine and mulberry sparkling drinks, offering diners an authentic farm-to-table experience.
Convenient Access to Fresh, Local Delicacies
Funcom Supermarket has long championed high-quality local agricultural products. Through the AFA's efforts, 8 brands now offer 13 primary processed items on Funcom’s shelves. These include organic dried burdock slices and burdock tea from Delisen, one of the top 10 outstanding farmers of the year; specialty teas from the century-old GuFang Organic Tea Farm; ai-yu seeds (jelly fig seeds) from Green Valley Ai-Yu Farm, known for the high-pectin “Maoli No. 2” variety developed by the Miaoli District Agricultural Research and Extension Station; and additive-free rice crackers from Mipinguo, baked with aromatic rice grown in Yunlin. Also available are flavorsome roasted black bean tea, organic red quinoa, and organic balsam pear tea bags from Good Paddy Come in Pairs and Kakorot. For those with a sweet tooth, dried fruit and fruit puree from Lianxing and Le Nong Fa offer delicious, fruity flavors.
These products are available in dedicated sections across 30 Funcom stores, and group buying opportunities are regularly shared through the supermarket’s Line communities. Interested consumers can visit their nearest Funcom Supermarket to join the group purchase community and stay updated on the latest promotions.
Maji Treats, known for its carefully curated products with distinct Taiwanese flavors, has added to its selection organic dried chrysanthemums from DaPu Organic Farm, dried roselle flowers produced in collaboration with developmentally delayed individuals by Collecting. Sunshine, brown rice tea from Quan Tang, gift boxes of tea leaves from Dong Cheng Tea and Sunlinksea Tea CHA YUE SUN LIN, and organic turmeric powder from Qingliang Farm in Taitung County. Additionally, "have a sEAT" at eslite spectrum Nanxi now offers dishes featuring fresh, juicy, tender Oldham bamboo shoot cuts from Mr. Rong's Bamboo Farms in Bali and nutritious, chilled mulberry puree from Le Nong Fa. This innovative business model supports food education by highlighting the journey of food from farm to plate.
Expanding Opportunities at Hope Plaza: Limited-Time Offer!
To further support primary processors, the AFA has established a dedicated stall at the Hope Plaza Farmers Market in Taipei, offering them a direct connection with consumers. This face-to-face interaction provides valuable feedback, builds brand awareness, and expands their customer base. From July 20 to July 21, visitors to the stall can find Alibang Black Tea and Shimen Ti Kuan Yin Oolong Tea bags from Aroma Garden Tea Produce, along with dried citrus fruits from Ethan yuan Farm. As a special promotion, customers will receive a complimentary mulberry sparkling drink with any purchase (while supplies last).
By assisting farmers in obtaining legal, hygienic, and safe processing sites, the AFA is helping to increase the value of agricultural products. The agency is also guiding farmers to produce a wider range of primary processed products and explore new distribution channels, creating more opportunities for these primary agricultural processors and innovative business models.
